Charles Hodge President & CEO

Charles Hodge is Founder and President of BlueBin; and the primary architect of its kanban distribution system. Prior to forming BlueBin, Charles served as Chief Procurement Officer and Vice President of Supply Chain Management for Seattle Children’s Hospital and Research Institute (a national leader in pediatric care). Before joining Seattle Children’s, Charles was the Regional Director in charge of supply chain management operations for Sutter Health’s Peninsula Coastal Region, as well as a member of Sutter Health’s corporate strategic sourcing group. Charles’ earlier career involved concurrent directorship roles in commodity and supply chain management operations for several world-class original equipment manufacturers, including Applied Materials (semiconductor capital equipment) and Asyst Technologies. Prior to his appointments in capital equipment manufacturing, Charles held senior procurement positions in both the electronic chemicals and automotive manufacturing sectors, including New United Motors Manufacturing Incorporated (NUMMI), a Toyota and General Motors joint venture in Fremont, California. Charles earned a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree from California State University, and is a Master Six Sigma Black Belt.

Howard Jeffries Chief Financial Officer

Dr. Howard Jeffries is Chief Financial Officer and board member of BlueBin. He has served in this position since BlueBin’s founding. He is a pediatric cardiac intensivist at Seattle Children’s where he served as the Medical Director of Continuous Performance Improvement. Dr. Jeffries has been actively involved in the spread of lean concepts within healthcare as evidenced by his many lectures on the subject and his co-authored 2010 book, Leading the Lean Healthcare Journey. Howard received his medical degree from Tulane School of Medicine, a Master’s in Public Health from the Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Marshall School of Business of the University of Southern California. Dr. Jeffries completed his pediatric residency at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago and a fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

Robb Swan Chief Marketing Officer

As Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Board member for BlueBin Inc, Robb Swan is responsible for all business development activities for BlueBin, including sales and marketing for the BlueBin suite of products and solutions. With over 20 years of healthcare technology and services-related experience, Robb has a proven track record in healthcare IT solutions, including clinical, revenue cycle, practice management, computer assisted coding, and medical devices. Robb previously served as Western Region Manager for LYNX Medical Systems, and has held multiple leadership roles in sales, marketing, training and management for Johnson & Johnson and its subsidiaries. Robb earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a Business Communications emphasis from Montana State University.

Gerry Butler Chief Information Officer

As Chief Information Officer, Gerry is responsible for all technical aspects of BlueBin, including all BlueQ applications, the BlueQ Intelligence Platform, and BlueBin's Hosted Infrastructure. Gerry has over 15 years of experience specializing in healthcare technology and cross-functional collaboration in SaaS application development, partnering with large multi-tenant hospital organizations throughout the United States. During this time, Gerry established a proven track record of delivering exceptional, scalable, and sustainable solutions. Gerry previously served in multiple technical leadership roles centered around Product Development, Deployment, Testing, Release, and Training for Lynx Medical Systems, Optum, and R1. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Military History from the University of Washington.
